Tung Ly arrived in New Orleans in 2000 and attended Tulane University where he studied Biomedical Engineering and Political Science. Pursuing his interest in Information Technology, Tung worked as an Analyst at Tulane from 2003-2005 providing students, staff, and faculty with technical assistance. In 2005 he began work with the Louisiana Public Health Institute as a Senior Program Analyst and has been instrumental in the redevelopment of Information Technology infrastructure in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, as well as the implementation of IT platforms and systems across many levels of healthcare.
Now as an engaged citizen of New Orleans, Tung actively invests time and resources in Net Squared New Orleans, 504ward, and the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a board member for Social Entrepreneurs of New Orleans (SENO) and Vietnamese American Young Leaders Association of New Orleans (VAYLA-NO). Additionally, Tung has worked with Deltree and is co-creator of the award winning international film project “Fifty People, One Question.”
